Even though our professional and personal goals keep us busy, it seems as there’s always room for more. We usually feel the need to be well-informed, for example. That’s why listening to a format like daily news podcasts can be helpful. In this episode, Javi Caminero is joined by Ana Fuentes, host of Hoy En El País, Spain’s biggest daily news podcast, to analyze the importance of this genre.  Visit the WePod project website: https://www.wepodproject.eu/welcome   Credits:  Hosted and written by Javi Caminero  Sound design by Manu Tomillo  Coordinator: Alexander Damiano Ricci  Executive producer: Ana Ribera  This project has received funding from CROSS-Sectoral of the Creative Europe Programme.

S1EP5 - Podcasts for kids: your future audience is already listening

Podcasts can be a very useful tool to learn new things. They can also be funny, engaging, or exciting. Podcasts can talk to kids about things they know or introduce them to a wide range of unimaginable topics. To understand how a good podcast can impact a kid’s mind, Javi Caminero talks to Dan Simpson, host of one of the UK’s biggest kids and family podcasts: ‘Fun Kids Science Weekly’.  Listen to Dan’s recommendations:  Everything under the sun: https://open.spotify.com/show/6ZG4m8uOL5nqTGW4T0O53p?si=b1b6d0f5e7a94a4d  Hamish and Andy: https://hamishandandy.com/podcasts/  The rest is politics: https://www.goalhangerpodcasts.com/the-rest-is-politics  Writer’s Routine: https://podfollow.com/writersroutine/view   Visit the WePod project website: https://www.wepodproject.eu/welcome   Credits:  Hosted and written by Javi Caminero  Sound design by Manu Tomillo  Coordinator: Alexander Damiano Ricci  Executive producer: Ana Ribera  This project has received funding from CROSS-Sectoral of the Creative Europe Programme.

S1EP4 - Creating original music for a podcast

Podcasts are now more complex than ever. We are used to listening to amazing documentaries or fictions that are possible thanks to the hard work of producers, sound designers, script writers... However, having a great soundtrack can be crucial when it comes to creating a unique podcast. To understand everything regarding this matter, Javi Caminero is joined by Luca Micheli, Sound Director and Head of Music at Chora Media, our Italian partner in the WePod project.  Listen to Luca’s recommendations:  Chiedilo a Barbero: https://open.spotify.com/show/7JLDPffy6du4rAy8xW3hTT?si=f8187e55cada4637&nd=1&dlsi=49be5f669435449d   Indagini: https://open.spotify.com/show/4I2H2YHJQnGO4Aynrw1ToZ   Visit the WePod project website: https://www.wepodproject.eu/welcome   Credits:  Hosted and written by Javi Caminero  Sound design by Manu Tomillo  Coordinator: Alexander Damiano Ricci  Executive producer: Ana Ribera  This project has received funding from CROSS-Sectoral of the Creative Europe Programme.

S1EP3 - How does Europe listen to podcasts?

Podcasts have become a global phenomenon. However, the success of a podcast is heavily conditioned by its social context. The formats that are huge hits in Spain could be less successful in Poland, or Ireland. On this episode, Javi Caminero is joined by Edu Alonso, Head of Podcast for Southern and Eastern Europe at Spotify, to understand how the European audience listens to podcasts.  Listen to Edu’s recommendations:  XRey: https://open.spotify.com/show/43tAQjl2IVMzGoX3TcmQyL   Estirando El Chicle: https://open.spotify.com/show/6V1DDzXVZg6wFXFo0SanY2   Hoy en El País: https://open.spotify.com/show/4n2SYRzAXUKDFccZ993ZEh   Visit the WePod project website: https://www.wepodproject.eu/welcome   Credits:  Hosted and written by Javi Caminero  Sound design by Manu Tomillo  Coordinator: Alexander Damiano Ricci  Executive producer: Ana Ribera  This project has received funding from CROSS-Sectoral of the Creative Europe Programme
